December 15, 2014

Dear First Grade Families,                                                                    12-15-14

The December Reading Challenge log is due Thursday.  Please write the total number of minutes your child has read for the month and sign and return the form.  Time spent reading really helps your child increase his or her reading level.  Please make sure your child is reading at home for homework.

Spelling booklets will be sent home today.  Please sign and return.

Unit 4 Math lessons include addition, subtraction, reading a thermometer, measurement, timelines and telling time on the quarter hour.

Social Studies lessons continue to focus on study of economics.  Students are learning about needs, wants, goods, services, producers and consumers.

Thursday, December 18, we will have our PBIS good behavior reward celebration.  Students can wear pajamas to school that day.  Students can bring a favorite book to share.  We will read books and enjoy cookies and milk.

Friday, December 19, we will have our holiday party at the end of the day.  Students may bring a game to play.  Please write your child’s name on the game.  We will play games, make crafts and enjoy a snack.

Reminders:  Gym on Tuesday; Read 15 minutes or more daily; Return library books Friday.

Have a great week and a wonderful vacation!

Mrs. Dobronski
