Dear First Grade Families,
Here are the assignments for the week. I am posting assignments for the week on my blog, through Class dojo.com, and through readworks.org. Please help your child complete the assignments. At this point, students will be earning credit for doing school work and grades will be entered in the grade book. Students will receive a report card for the online work your child is doing at home. Please email me anytime if you have questions regarding your child’s online assignments.
Spelling – The spelling words for the week includes the following words: bill, fill, litter, ladder, add, mitt, pass, mess, lesson, and butter.
Monday – Have your child write rainbow words.
Tuesday – Have your child write sentences.
Wednesday – Have your child write words in ABC order.
Thursday – Have your child write each word two times.
Friday – Give your child a spelling test.
Reading – 20 minutes per day
Monday Reading – Log in to readworks.org and read, “Tiny Animals Can Be Helpers.” Answer the questions and submit work. Read on Raz Kids for extra practice.
Tuesday Reading – Log on to readworks.org and read “The Bald Eagle.” Answer the questions and submit work. Read on Reading Eggs for extra practice.
Wednesday Reading – Read on RAZ Kids for extra practice.
Thursday Reading – Read on Reading Eggs or RAZ Kids.
Friday Reading – Read on Reading Eggs or RAZ Kids.
Writing – 20 minutes per day
The writing can include the writing students are doing through readworks.org and the following writing prompts.
Monday – Write about what you did on the weekend.
Tuesday – Write about your favorite subject in school.
Wednesday – Write about your plans for the summer.
Math – 20 minutes per day
For Math practice, students can use Math Seeds or Zearn. Students can also practice counting money or telling time. Please have your child go to Knowledge on the Go or the Engage New York website to do the Eureka Math lessons. You can also use the Succeed Eureka Math book to practice the lessons.
Monday – Do Lesson 9 in Module 5
Tuesday – Do Lesson 10 in Module 5
Wednesday – Do Lesson 11 in Module 5. Practice math on Math Seeds or Zearn.
Thursday – Practice math on Math Seeds or Zearn.
Science – Go to the Mystery Science website and follow the first grade Mystery Science lesson, “How Is A Rainbow Made?”
Social Studies – Students are learning about family history. You can look at photographs of your family with your child and discuss how people are related and family memories.

Please follow the plans I posted on Monday for today’s lessons. Students have done a great job completing work and turning in assignments. We only have one more week of online learning. The last day of school is Thursday, June 11.
