Dear First Grade Families,                                                    5-5-14

School picture day is Friday, May 9, 2014.

Spelling booklets will be sent home today.  Please sign and return.

Writing lessons will include opinion writing.  Students will write their opinion about a topic and support it with details.

Unit 8 Math lessons will include counting money; place value; hundreds, tens and ones; fractions; addition and subtraction.

Social Studies lessons will continue to focus on rules and ways to get along with others.

Science lessons continue to include study of the three states of matter. (solid, liquid, gas)

Reminders:  Read for homework 15 minutes or more.  On Friday we will have our spelling and math computation tests.  Students will have gym Friday and return library books.
