I attached the Math Topic C Parent letter to your Classroom under Math Module 6, so you would be able to find it easier in the future. I hope this helps.
Good Morning! Today is our last day before Spring Break! Just in time because the temperatures are getting warmer. Spirit Day is sharing your TV shows, activities, and/or music that keeps you going during this time! I will keep my pen ready to add to my list!
You have completed 3 weeks of Remote Learning. WhooHoo! Even though, I would prefer to be at school. You did it! You can do it! We will continue our Remote Learning after Spring Break, but with a few changes. I will set up Google Meets with you, at least, once a week, so we can see each other face to face, and our science will be changing to Life Science. One of my favorites! Starting today, we have a new video series starting in social studies. You won’t want to miss it!
During break, I will not post any daily assignments for you to do. You can catch up on any missing assignments! If you want to make some virtual cards of well wishes(pictures of cards you’ve made) next week, send them to me and I will forward them to people I know that could use a sweet card from you. Then you can give it to a relative who may also want to hear from you! I will check my email so if you want to chat, I’m available. I miss you!
Math-Lesson 13; I have added the link below for parents. This is the Parent Letter that helps explain the next few lessons for this Module. I hope you find it helpful. Watch the video for Lesson 13 before completing the Problem Set and Zearn for this lesson. You will be drawing lines today. Use a ruler, if you have one, or the edge of a box to draw your lines(parallel lines), so they are straight.
Language-Complete the activity in Classroom remembering how to use the comparing words more & most. More is used for comparing 2 things, and most is used when comparing more than 2 things. The link below will take you directly to the Classroom, so you can complete your assignment.

Read/Write-reread Unbreakable Code and “Rita, the Storyteller”. On page 599 of your book, answer question #5. Write a comparison of these two stories. How are their family’s histories and traditions similar? How are they different? Write an introduction of the stories, body will be 2 paragraphs(similarities & differences), and a conclusion. Use text evidence from both stories to support your answers. The link above will take you to Classroom.
Science–ReadWorks article 3, 2, 1, …Blast Off! Read and complete the activities. This activity will show up in Classroom.
Social Studies-we are starting our video series, Liberty’s Kids. Today’s episode shares the Boston Tea Party with you. These videos are historical fiction and are about 20ish minutes, so make sure you have time to watch the entire thing. You have a video guide to go with it in your Classroom. Have your guide pulled up while you watch the video, so you can add info during the video. Of course, you can rewatch the video if you miss information.

IXL-at least 20 minutes a day. Please work in math(20) and language(15), not just one or the other.

I’m glad to see a couple of you checked out Code Monkey on the Student Page. We have access to it for the rest of this month. See the code in a previous post to get logged in. Enjoy learning!

On #4, your problem is different from mine. Neither of the people/answers are correct on your mid-mod, but your answer needs to explain why in detail.

Good morning! I hope you all had a good Wednesday. Mr. Dearth and I were able to take Brooklynn on a long walk. It was cool out, but not bad. Today, for Spirit Week, is Sock it to Corona-Crazy Sock Day! Get those crazy socks out because I want to see them. Remember to space out your time while doing your school work. You don’t have to do it all at once. Work for a while then take a break, then back at it.
Again, I need to remind you to complete your work. Many of you are not doing your daily classwork, or choosing to only do certain activities. Our governor and superintendent have said we need to keep up with our work. Remote learning counts for being in school, so we need to complete our activities as if we were in the classroom. 6th grade is just around the corner!
Math-complete the Mid-Mod in Classroom. Do your best!
Read-continuing with author’s perspective, complete the activity in Classroom using DocHub.
SS/Read-complete these activities in the following order. 1)Read Boston Massacre in Classroom then answer the questions. Highlight the text where you found each answer. 2) Read Online SS textbook pages 122-124; 3)watch Video A & B(if it will let you); 4) Reread your book pages 294-5; 5) create a timeline of 4-5 important events that let up to the Massacre.
Writing-read the passages to determine the figurative language being used. When writing your explanation, be specific. Use details.
Language-using the adjectives more and most. Complete the activity in Classroom making sure you review how to use these adjectives correctly.
Read Aloud-listen to chapters 19 & 20. Read the prompt & respond in Classroom.
IXL– do, at least, your daily practice of 20 minutes. Many of you are not doing your daily practice. You must keep practicing your learned skills. Remember we are practicing math and language arts; scroll through these topics to see all the starred activities. I also starred a couple more coordinate grid activities in math that I think you will find fun to do.
