Hello Howard families! 

It’s that time of year again where we start accepting entries for Reflections! Howard has been a part of this program for many years and has been wildly successful in the past I’m sure this year will bring great things for our most creative and expressive Howard Dragons!  If you are not familiar with this program, it is an arts competition where students are encouraged to submit original artworks that are all their own, built around a theme. There are many categories for them to explore among them are dance, literature, photography, music, visual arts and more. This year’s theme is “LOOK WITHIN”. 

We will be having an assembly to introduce this to students who have not participated in years past.

The deadline for submissions is DECEMBER 15, 2019, and winners will move on to the district and state competitions.

In order to provide students opportunities to work with community organizations and participate in experiences that support efforts to help those that are less fortunate, our Student Council will be participating in the Goodfellows Newspaper Sales on Friday, December 6. Students will be selling the newspapers at all four corners surrounding the school during drop off from 8:20 until 8:40 in the morning. Please help them in their fundraising efforts by dropping a donation in their buckets as you pass by. Thank you in advance for your support!

My family has been blessed this week with our 2nd grandchild. A beautiful little boy! I want to wish all a wonderful week celebrating time with family.

The students will have their next SS Assessment on Tuesday, Nov. 26. They have many resources in their notebooks to support their studies. The class has used their hardcover SS book, as well as, an online textbook.

Last night’s, Tuesday Nov. 12th, conferences will be held on Monday, Nov. 18th at the same time you were previously scheduled.
