We took notes and practices with affixes today (prefix, suffix, root words).
We continued with our folktale unit by reviewing the elements of a folktale and analyzing the story Rumpelstiltskin for it’s folktale element.
We also finished our poem discussion by analyzing the themes of each poem we were given so we can begin a passage based writing analysis.
Conferences: Spring conferences are structured differently than Fall conferences. We have invited the families of students that we really need to talk to about academic progress. If you did not receive a phone call from us, we do not need to see you concerning your student. If your student has been earning A’s and B’s in their classes, it is not necessary for you to attend this time around. That being said all are welcome to attend conferences but keep in mind these will be one-on-one private conferences which take more time and require more patience. We apologize for the wait in advance! Conferences are Thursday and begin at 3:30 pm end at 6:30 pm, please arrive by 6:00 pm if you need to speak to all of your student’s teachers.
Extra Credit Opportunity: Read your Personal Narrative aloud at Math and Literacy Night WEDNESDAY 6:00-7:30 pm for 10 points formative! Sign up is posted outside of my classroom! Please be on time during your time slot!
