I would like to thank all of my students and their families for the wonderful surprise baby shower you threw me today! It was a very unexpected surprise! It was so thoughtful and generous of all of you to shower baby Dailing and I with your kind words and very sweet gifts! I appreciate you all and loved having you as my students this year! You still get me as your teacher for a few more days so have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Today we had our very own Ceremony of Twelve where the students were assigned “jobs” within the community based on their interests and skills survey we took a few days ago. We reflected on how it felt waiting in anticipation to see what job we were going to be assigned and related it back to our protagonist’s experiences in the first few chapters.

We also read chapter 12 as a class and were given the remaining time to work on chapter 12 questions and our charts that are due Tuesday.  Make sure your Jobs, Vocabulary, and Ages and Stages charts are complete, along with chapters 1-12 questions for Monday’s notebook check!
