We were given all class yesterday and today (over 2 hours total) to work on our Story Elements Projects. If it is not done at this point it is homework over Thanksgiving Break. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING IT MONDAY!
All MobyMax Noun lessons have been reassigned or remains on the student’s MobyMax account if eligible to redo (Students have been aware of this since Tuesday). This needs to be done no later than the end of Thanksgiving Break (December 1st). 85% or higher is passing for all 10 points. I will check periodically over break to reset any that are below 85% or you can email me and I will respond once I have reset it.
Thank you all who brought food and tableware for our Celebration of Diversity Luncheon! And a big thanks for the parents who came in to help! The kids had a blast and the food was delicious!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! Enjoy lots of food and family time!

Block 2 ONLY – WE STILL NEED CONTRIBUTIONS TO TOMORROW’S LUNCHEON PLEASE!
We have many appetizers and desserts but not main dishes! This is going to be our lunch for the day so please consider bringing an entree to share!
Our celebration is from 10:50-11:50 am tomorrow in your child’s Block 2 class.
Bellwork: We had sustained silent reading time (15 minutes) and did our metacognition log about what strategy we used while reading to help us understand.
Reading & Writing: We had a group discussion about “Tuesday of the Other June” related to the conflicts in the story and the choices the protagonist made along the way. Then we did a Rainbow Write activity where we collaboratively wrote a constructed response (CER) to share with the class on one type of conflict found in “Tuesday of the Other June”
We were given a Cultural Pie to take home to brainstorm our cultural identity and what makes us who we are as human beings. This will be turned in on Monday with an extra credit opportunity to share one piece of their pie with the class at our Celebration of Diversity Luncheon on Tuesday.

This is the example used in class. Remember to properly cite your textual evidence with quotation marks and page numbers.

Today was Mrs. Dailing’s first day with her students! I am very excited to be back and move forward with the new cardmarking! Everything from card marking 1 was the bare minimum requirements for my class (and mostly reviewing previously learned concepts that we will build on this card marking). This cardmarking we will be doing more of the same on top of content related assignments and projects.
Unit 1 Retake is available – no one signed up for tomorrow morning so the next retake date is Friday at 7:20 am. You must: sign up in my class to attend and get your retake slip signed by a parent/guardian. (on top of studying!!). Students get the grade they earned on the retake (even if it is worse) and there will only be 1 chance per question instead of the 3 they got in class.
