PLEASE READ MY PREVIOUS POST ABOUT THE RETAKE & MAKEUP TUTORING SESSION!

Today we continued with our last argumentative topic with the negative side of video games. Students completed their Pro/Con list and chose which side they were on. We discussed the pros/cons in our small groups and then wrote about our opinions in a CER paragraph.   All CER paragraphs not completed in class are homework!!

If you plan on missing ANY part of next week please come see me immediately! We are beginning our argumentative essays and they will be due after Winter Break! Absent students are still expected to be prepared with this ready to turn in on January 8th!

Homework

  • Video Game CER – Due Monday so we can choose a topic for our essay!
  • Moby Max Language Lessons (85% or higher for full points – may retake until you receive this score or higher!) – DUE JANUARY 9th
    • Interjections
    • Subjective, Objective, and Possessive Pronouns
    • Pronoun and Antecedents
    • Vague Pronoun
    • Adjectives
    • Comparative and Superlative Adjectives
    • Sequencing Adjectives
  • 60 minutes reading chapter book (over the course of the week!) 
  • One-Pager #3 & #4 – Due no later than January 26th

 

Students that want to retake the Vocabulary Test MUST:

  • Not have missing MobyMax homework or Letters of Complaint (check Student connect, missing assignments are marked as “Missing”, blank scores ARE NOT missing)
  • Attend Tuesdays (December 19th) NJHS tutoring session. It starts at 3:00pm in Mrs. Bailey’s room. There will be assignment they will work on with their tutor that they must bring with them to the retake session (This is non-negotiable! If you don’t attend this you cannot take the retake. Tutoring sessions help you STUDY and Ask Questions so  you can better understand!! Remember your retake score is your final score!)
  • Get a parent signature on retake slip (available by retake sign up list)

Unit Two Vocabulary Test retake date:   WEDNESDAY December 20th – 3:00 pm (Mrs. Dailing’s room) and THURSDAY December 21st 7:15 am (Mrs. Bailey’s room)
