January 16th

We practiced identifying figurative language in context using a short story today. They were given up to 2 more stories to complete for extra credit (due Wednesday, January 23rd).

We then were given time to work on our Figurative Language Projects. These are due on Friday. Remember – pick ONE type of figurative language from the list and ONE box to complete on the directions page.   There are 7 points extra credit on this if you choose TWO boxes and present to the class on Friday!

During Writer’s Workshop we began to plan our personal narratives on a storyboard. We will continue this tomorrow.

Unit 2 Test Retake is on Thursday @ 3:00pm (my room) or Tuesday January 22nd @7:15am (Mrs. Bailey’s room) – you MUST sign up and bring retake entrance slip (with parent signature) or you will be asked to leave.

Please be aware of the following:

Starting on Monday, January 28, text notifications will be ending for Verizon Wireless customers who use the free Remind service.  People who normally get my Remind messages as TEXTS (only text messages, not those that use the app!) will no longer receive them.  If you want to continue receiving Remind notifications, you will need to download the app instead.
