October 4th

Today we had a class discussion about the story “Eleven”. We discussed the author’s choice of changing the point of view and also how someone could feel their age, but also all the ages before that.  For writer’s workshop we began our first CER using textual evidence. This was about the main point of view the author writes “Eleven” in. The sentence stems and story link are posted below:

You will find the story here:  https://my.ccsd.net/userdocs/documents/qP2lEuWcYaAQAtMW.pdf

We all received our first Scholastic books to add to our home libraries! Enjoy!!

One-Pager #1 and #2 are due at the end of the month (October 26th). Each student should have at least ONE full novel read by this point in the year and should be currently reading their 2nd book if they are to finish their One-Pagers on time. These are 20 points summative each and will impact their grade tremendously if not turned in. Please make sure you are not waiting until the last day to complete these, they will take more than an evening to complete.

Have a wonderful day!
