Today we categorized Author’s purpose with different types of writing. They did extremely well with this activity! We will be moving onto new learning tomorrow!  We also reviewed making a claim and went back into our Newsela Article of the Week to determine it’s purpose for writing and wrote a claim statement  using the text features as evidence. Students have until Friday to finish their Article of the Week claim statement and quiz. This will be done in class as a Daily 5 choice.

• 20 minutes of reading “good-fit” book (60 minutes per week!) – be prepared to write about your book during Friday’s bellwork
