Week of Sept. 3-6

Thank you for signing up for my blog. Parents that sent back the slip at the end of the Welcome Letter with your email address, I just completed adding all emails and you are officially subscribed! Thank you! If you need another copy, please download and print the link above.

The first couple of weeks are always the most challenging. There is so much to learn. 6th grade can be a tough transition. Many students are coming from schools with 250 students or less, to one that has more than 850. Our students now have to juggle different classes with different teachers. Please know that I understand it is difficult not only for the kids but parents as well. I am here to help in anyway I can and support your children to the best of my ability.

I will be teaching your child science this school year. Mrs. Flack and I share a classroom but our curriculums are completely different. I am at Bryant on “A” days. These are the days when your child will have science class. This week “A” days were on T/Th. Next week “A” days are on W/W/F. They will continue to alternate in this fashion.

This week we began an introduction unit about Systems and Models. The first assignment is due on Monday the 9th. Some students have already turned theirs in.

I will not be able to add assignments to this blog because of copyright laws. However, all students have joined my Google Classroom. This is where all assignments and digital resources can be found.

The following assignments can be found on Google Classroom:

2 Systems and Models: Anchoring Experience (due Mon 9/9)

3 Systems and Models: Uncover Your Ideas (began in class on Thursday-we will continue to work on it next week.
