In the classroom we work on sorting activities every single day. Why? Because sorting is an important beginning math skill! By sorting, kids understand that things are alike and different as well as that they can belong and be organized into certain groups. Below I have some activities you can do at home with items you have around the house!
Things you can sort by:
- Color
- Number
- Letters (this would be a good activity for Language Arts, too!)
- Size
- Shape
- Objects
