Continue as if were meeting in the classroom.

Hello Pharm Tech Students!

I am sure that you were as surprised as I was when we got the announcement  that schools would be closed for three weeks!  I do think it was the right decision to slow the spread of the corona virus and I hope you’ll do everything you can to avoid crowds during this time and follow the good practices of hand-washing and covering your cough and not touching your face.  Since our spring break follows the three-week school closure, I do not expect to see you until April 13.   I know it is important to all of you that we have the opportunity to compete the required content for PassAssured so that you have the best chance possible to earn certification.  Since we will only have 6 weeks left for seniors after we return from this time off, it is imperative that you continue working on PassAssured while we are off.  You should know that the school district has asked us teachers to continue with lessons remotely.   In addition, they have asked us to contact parents when students do not complete assignments by the due dates.  Please be responsible and complete the assignments I send by their due dates!   With that being said, I EXPECT all of you to spend at least an hour or two (or more for those of you that want to pass the PTCE) on PassAssured daily. My suggestion is to set a timer and don’t let anything disrupt that time that you set aside to work on PassAssured.  I will have deadlines in place so that you can continue as it school were still in session.  The entire section of Medical Review is open as is the test.  You should aim to get this done by the end of the week.  I will post grades  on 3-20.    I have also opened up Aspetic Techniques.  Get started on that as well. Remember that you need to complete the program in ORDER for it to make sense.  Aseptic Technique should not take you as long as the Medical Review.   I will be in touch as you should be with me.  Please let me know if you are having any difficulties so that we can deal with them earlier rather than later.  If I don’t hear from you, I will assume everything is ok.  Please get started and work EVERY day.  Otherwise your grade is going to suffer.   Please reply to this email letting me know that you understand what I have assigned.   Mrs. Craig

Good Morning!

Just a few reminders for all of you.

The HOSA state finalists are all set and registered to travel to Traverse City, MI on April 26th.  There are 26 students attending this year and I have a good feeling that this is going to be one of the best competitions ever!  Please make sure you are practicing and preparing for your upcoming event.

Parent teacher conferences are coming up on March 23rd from 4 pm to 7 pm.  Please tell your parents to come and see the wonderful place you call school!  We love to talk with your parents too!  I promise I won’t say anything bad!

We will need volunteers to take parents on tours during parent teacher conferences.  We at MBCC use this time for recruiting purposes so there may be visitors in the building and we will need your help.  See Dr. Bayerl to sign up.

Have you considered going to help out at Oakwood Common?  Go to signupgenius.com and type in my email address.  Sign up!  It’s fun and easy and fulfilling too!  Plus, it counts as participation.

On March 27th we will have a real live pharmacy student come in to talk with you regarding a day in the life of…  It will happen 2nd hour.  Please see me if you are not in this class and you are interested in attending.

Also, there is an opportunity for  working parents to attend an evening Parent Talk Class with Margaret King-Ahmed. The first class is Thursday March 16th, 6:00-7:30 pm.  March 22,29, 30th are the other three dates. All classes are held at ASC in the Board Room.
