Weekly update

Hello Everyone,

I hope all of you had a good weekend.

It’s time to reinforce information from the Specimen Collection modules.  We are going to try a new platform called EdPuzzles to emphasize all of the information you learned last week. Please be patient if there are hiccups as this is my first time with this site and there may be a couple bumps in the road.  Don’t hesitate to let me know what problems may arise.   There are specific instructions in google classroom and hopefully this will be both fun and educational!   This week you will be watching videos and answering the questions.  Try to do the best you can the first time you watch the video.  I hope it helps you to understand how to collect specimens.

I am working on Quizlet Live for our Tuesday Big Blue Button.  Look for a quizlet code in REMIND to join the Live before actually signing into BBB.   I think it might be fun if we can pull this off!  Remember, our Tuesday BBB sessions are mandatory.  That means you must attend them.  Also, make sure you sign in with “microphone” so that you can communicate with everyone.  You will not be getting credit for joining if I can’t talk to you.  My advice is to figure it out ahead of time so you aren’t having to leave the session and come back in.  Hey, if I can figure it out, you can!

Again, the Thursday BBB will be on a “need be” basis. I am very happy to meet with anyone (or all) of you on Thursday if you need help with your work, or you just want to talk. Please don’t hesitate to send me a REMIND if you want to meet at 10:00 am (2nd and 3rd hours) or 11:00 am (5th and 6th hours) to make sure I open up the BBB room on iLearn.

On Wednesday you will have an assignment posted to google classroom that will be due on Thursday.  Please make sure that you get to it right away so that you don’t fall behind.  We don’t have school on May 22 and May 25th for the Memorial Day weekend – such as it is.  I don’t plan on giving you work for the weekend so please try to stay on task with everything or caught up if you need to.

We have a number of seniors in the class  – so it is with some sadness that I write this last blog to all of you.  I regret that I have not been able to see you in my classroom every day, and I also regret not being able to spend time in labs and group activities.  I am so sorry that we couldn’t make that happen.  Mostly, I regret that I will not be able to say goodbye properly as I have grown fond of all of you.  Each of you will be moving on to share your gifts with the world – it may be delayed but you will be able to do that eventually.  Heck, maybe one of you will figure out this stupid virus so we can get back out there!  I do hope with all my heart that each and every one of you keeps me updated on your endeavors and your future successes!  I will miss all of you very much.  I have faith in you and I am proud of who you have become.

As always, I’m available through REMIND, email (craigv@dearbornschools.org), google classroom and of course, my blog. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need ANYTHING. I am here to help!

Weekly Update

Good Morning My Pharm Tech Students,

I have sent each one of you a REMIND to update you on what needs to be completed before Thursday, May 21st, your very last day of high school.  Thursday will be your final exam and you will need to set aside about two hours to complete it.  I was thinking that we could do this whatever time all of you are ready – 3:00 pm?  You will need to send me a REMIND to let me know if this is a good time for you.  I’d like to work around your Ramadan schedule but at the same time, have all of you taking it together.   We could even do it Friday if you all vote that that’s what you’d like to do.  Let me know, OK?  The final exam will be worth 15% of your grade.

Tuesday is the mandatory Big Blue Button at 1:30 pm.  Bring your questions, comments, concerns. Please have your PTCE confirmation ready as I will need that information. Many of you haven’t sent me your date even though I have asked several times.   You all realize you get 5 summative points for attending BBB, don’t you?  Some of you have never attended!  On Tuesday, I will give you an update on the PTCE testing, ID’s, and procedures.  I made a phone call to PearsonVue and the lady I talked with had a lot of information for us!  Be there.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this last weekly update to you – I regret not being able to see all of you in my classroom every day, though not at 7:30 am as I am not a morning person!   :O)  I regret that I have not been there to see you though and cheer you though this program and your senior year.  Mostly, I’m disappointed that I will not be able to say goodbye properly as I have grown very fond of all of you (even Baydoun!)  JK.  Each one of you has a huge gift to give to the world, though it has been put on hold because of this stupid virus, it only affords you more time to develop it.  With that being said, it is my hope, my desire that none of you let go of your Pharm Tech education just yet.  YOU CAN PASS that exam and have PhT after your name with a state licensure.  Just think, with this certification, you will never be without a job. This is a valuable certification that is worth it’s weight in gold and you have the information in front of you that will enable you to get it.  You will need to study at least 2 hours every day and believe me, it will be worth it.  You can do this!

I do hope with all my heart that each and every one of you keeps me updated on your PTCE test results and that you don’t forget about including me in on your future successes!  I will miss all of you very much.  I have faith in every one of you – go out and do this! You know how to get hold of me.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Craig
