On April 25th,  the first graders will take the math portion of the NWEA test. All students will start tomorrow and finish on Tuesday. The same schedule will take place on Monday (May 2nd) and Tuesday (May 3rd) for the reading portion of the NWEA test. The children will have two forty minute sessions to complete all 56 questions. I would encourage them to take their time, listen carefully and read through all the answer selections. Many kids rush through the test and it shows in their scores. Please discuss with them the importance of listening, thinking and taking their time. It is also very important that the kids be at school this week and next while we continue to prepare for the tests. It is very tricky to schedule make-up test times, so it would be best if the kids can take it with me and at our scheduled times for the best results.

Please continue to have your child read nightly. The difference nightly reading makes is incredible! Thank you so much for your support and involvement with your child’s education!

Enjoy the last bit of the weekend and see everyone in the morning! 🙂
