A couple of families asked for our weekly spelling lists to practice at home, which is great phonics work. Since I had a few families ask, I thought maybe some others may be interested to.
Below is a list of our spelling words for the rest of the school year. This is OPTIONAL. You do not have to give your student weekly spelling tests or turn anything into me. It’s just something I want to put out there in case anyone else is interested.
Week of April 13: tone, spoke, chose, broke, note, bone, hole, nose,
code, hose (then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same long o with a bossy e pattern).
Week of April 20: truck, back, black, duck, check, neck, sock, block, shock, sick (then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -ck pattern).
Week of April 27: boat, load, float, soak, road, show, snow, glow,
tow, mow (then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -oa- or -ow pattern).
Week of May 4: owl, brown, how, now, down, town, plow, frown,
clown, tower (then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -ow pattern).
Week of May 11: feel, peel, steep, deep, free, seed, need, greet,
green, sheet
(then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -ee pattern).
Week of May 18: heat, eat, speak, please, leaf, clean, east, seat, treat, read
(then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -ea pattern).
Week of May 25: moon, spoon, tooth, balloon, raccoon, noon, room, broom, soon, pool (then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -oo pattern).
Week of June 1: wood, stood, took, foot, hook, look, book, shook,
cook, brook (then choose 5 “surprise words” for his test on Friday that follows the this same -oo pattern).
