Tomorrow the first graders will take the NWEA reading test. The children will be asked 47 questions all related to ELA concepts (reading comprehension, syllables, antonyms and synonyms, sentence structure, punctuation, vocabulary, etc. . The test will be read to them through headphones and they will need to choose the best answer to the questions. I will encourage them to take their time and listen carefully to the questions asked.

Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest tonight and wakes up with a big, healthy breakfast to get their brains going in the morning! Please stress the importance of these tests to your child and encourage them to take their time, listen to the questions and do their best.

Thank you for your continued support 🙂

Ms. Otto

**You will also find one last NWEA review packet in your child’s folder tonight. It is much shorter and all of it is related to the reading NWEA test tomorrow. It’s only 16 questions long with a reading comprehension passage. Total, the packet should take more than 25-30 minutes. I am asking that the whole packet is completed tonight for homework and turned in tomorrow morning. This can be counted as their reading homework for the evening, and their NWEA practice time.

Thanks again!!
