Second graders, I am sorry that this is coming so late in the week. I have been trying to do a nice video lesson with me in it, and it just hasn’t been working out. So I am going to have you go to the video on your own. You will need to type YouTube Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra The English Chamber Orchestra into the search bar and click on it. The video is in two parts, and they should be the first two selections at the top of the list. When the first part ends, it will go automatically to the second part. Before you start the video, get a paper and pencil. The orchestra and a narrator are going to teach you about the instruments of the orchestra. As you watch the video, I would like you to write down each instrument that you hear about. For extra credit you can group them by families; woodwinds, strings, brass, and percussion. Then tell me which instrument you think that you would like to learn to play. Take a picture of your paper and send it to me through email. I hope you enjoy it.
