WEEKLY UPDATES

Great job on the Four-Square drafting with “The Most Dangerous Game!”

On Monday, we will continue peer editing.

On Tuesday, you will write the final draft of your Four-Square essay. This is a SUMMATIVE assignment, and you must write it in class. Therefore, if you are absent on Tuesday, you will need to stay after school to complete your essay.

Next week, we will also continue our 6+1 Traits review, as well as our article of the week:  Cell Phone Addiction. A big THANKS to Mustafa for sharing some interesting pictures for our Talk to Text exercises and relevant articles! Here is one of the links he shared:

NEW Card Marking Period

Hey Students!!

This week we’re beginning the second card marking period. That means you have an opportunity to start fresh and continue daily routines to help build your understanding of English skills! Keep participating in class, completing homework, reviewing notes, and asking questions. Remember to read 30 minutes or more. If you need help, several tutoring options are available; just ask me! Have a great week!

Weekly Update

Hi Students!

Keep reading your novels every night for at least 30 minutes, and try to increase the time a little each night. I hope you’re enjoying your stories!

This week, we will complete the reading of “The Most Dangerous Game.”  You will also begin an essay using the 4-Square model to answer the 4 questions about the story: What does it say? How does it say it? What does it mean? What does it mean to me? We will review/discuss each question further during the week.

You will also be asked to compare and contrast certain elements of this short story with “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” in a Thinking Map.

Keep up the great work, guys!
