Monday 4/13/20

Good afternoon – hopefully you had a restful and safe week away from what is now Becoming our new normal, sort of. Tomorrow, I will post an assignment to be completed by Wednesday and another on Thursday that will be due Friday. Hopefully, by the end of this week, things will start to become more clear regarding how the rest of this semester will look moving forward. Check in tomorrow and, until then, stay safe and be smart.

Friday 4/3/20

Good morning!! Looks like another great day, weather wise. Questions on wood plugs and list of activities you have been involved with during the lockdown are due today. Please submit these by the end of the day today.

Next week is officially spring break. I most likely will not be posting on this blog until Monday, April 13. Hope you have a great week and, as usual, please be safe and smart.

Wednesday – 4/1/20

Please don’t forget to watch the video on wood plugs and to submit your short answers to the 5 questions posted. Your responses are due today.

Don’t forget that today is the first day of April and you know what that means…It’s April fools day!! If you have any good pranks you’d like to share later, please feel free (this also means ones you may have fallen for), I love a good joke. If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the assignments up to this point, please feel free to email me.

Your next assignment that will be due on Friday is to write down and submit 5 things you’ve been doing to keep busy during this time away from school. Here are some of the things I’ve been doing to keep myself busy:

1. Redoing my Florida room at my house; painting, and new flooring.

2. A lot of Netflix movies!! I’ve never spent so much time in front of a TV in my entire life. If I could recommend a movie that I would consider a MUST WATCH, it would be Just Mercy. It’s one you’d have to rent but well worth it.

3. Lots of card games. Usually hate cards but, what else is there to do?

4. Practicing on my golf game in the backyard.

5. Spending way too much time on my phone and computer but, again, what else is there to do?

I’d really love to hear what you are doing so, please share. Hopefully you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. Please be smart and always try to make the right decision.

Most of you know by now I love to talk but, I promise, this is the last thing for today…I have to admit I really miss being in the classroom with all of you and I hope to get to see you all very soon. Peace!!

Monday – 3/30/20

Hope everyone had a great weekend! If you are anything like me, you are trying to find things to fill the time while at home. If you have any good ideas, please share with me…PLEASE!! I hope all of you and your families are safe and healthy during this time and hopefully, it will stay that way. I’ve always thought I could do anything for a short period of time but, this has me rethinking that thought. I know we will get through this and hopefully, we will have become slightly different people, for the good!!

I’ve assigned a video with 5 short questions for you to answer on wood plugs. Please watch the video and complete/submit the questions by Wednesday, 4/1.

As always, stay safe and be smart. I miss you all very much.

Wednesday 3/25/20

Good afternoon, hopefully you are all able to enjoy this beautiful spring day. Just wanted to remind everyone that the article review, on the dangers of sawdust in the shop, is due sometime today. Your next assignment will be given tomorrow. Hopefully, you are not being bogged down by too much work during this time but, please understand, it is important for you to keep your skills sharp in the event we do get back to school this semester. Please, if you have any questions regarding anything, feel free to email me. As always, have a great day and please stay safe.

Tuesday – 3/24/20

Good morning, hope everyone is doing well and able to find productive ways to get through this time at home. Today’s assignment is to read a short article on the dangers of saw dust in the woodworking shop. Please read the article and write, in your own words, a 1-2 paragraph review. The link to the article is posted below as well as in Google Classroom. Please complete and submit this by tomorrow night. Have a great day and please be safe.

The Hidden Health Dangers of Sawdust

Monday – 3/23/20

Good morning, hope everyone is doing well. As of today, many still have not submitted one or both assignments given last week. If you have not, please do so today. Tomorrow, you will have another assignment that will be due on Wednesday so, let’s not get too far behind. If you have any questions regarding either of the assignments from last week, please feel free to email me. Have a good day and please be safe.

FRIDAY – 3/20/20

Ok, week one of online assignments is coming to an end and, I have to say, it hasn’t been too bad. A bit of a learning curve for me too but, we are all pretty resilient and will get it all figured out. I appreciate those who have submitted their work so far and, from what I’ve seen, you’ve all done a pretty good job. Keep it up!

Your opinion paragraph is due today but, there will be nothing more until the beginning of next week so, be sure to check this blog each day. Again, I appreciate your resiliency. Please be safe and have a great weekend!!

THURSDAY 3/19/2020

HAPPY SPRING!

Yesterday’s assignment required you to read information regarding OSHA and write a review of what the information presented in the article. Today, I would like you to write a paragraph sharing your own thoughts and opinions on the same article. Please submit this by tomorrow night.

There are still some students who have not checked in with me. If you are able to spread the word via text, please do so. Have a great day and be safe.

Assignment – 3/18/2020

Good afternoon. Hope all is well with you and your family. If you go to Google Classroom, you will find your assignment which is due tomorrow. There are still some students who have not yet signed on to Google Classroom so if you have any means of contacting other students in your class, please ask them if they have signed on and, if not, please ask them to email me. Your help in this matter would be appreciated. Thank you and, be safe.
