Good afternoon! I did not send this out on Remind because not all parents have signed up yet. I did not want you to get two messages. My morning was spent at Henry Ford preparing Chromebooks for parents to pick up so I did not have a chance to set up a Google Hangouts Meet session yet. I will do one today at 4:00 PM for anyone who is able to join us. A couple of students were not able to get on yesterday so I wanted to give another chance for the kids to see each other. In regard to Chromebook distribution, if you told me that you would like to borrow a device and have not picked it up, I will keep you posted on when the next pick up will be. REMIND! I just signed up for Remind. It is a way for us to message so that people do not miss out on important messages. There are so many other people who you receive notifications from on ClassDojo so after talking with some parents this morning, I decided to check out Remind. I don’t want my messages to get lost in the shuffle. For those who need translation of my messages, I can send you a message through Dojo. Good morning!! I hope you are doing well! As I mentioned in my message last night, I will be setting up two different sessions for students to log onto Google Hangouts Meet today. Pick the time that works best for you and join us! The times will be at 11:00 this morning and 2:00 this afternoon. You can access download the Google Handouts Meet app if it works better for you. Good evening! Thank you for your patience and we try to navigate through this online learning thing! I realize that there are a lot of different usernames and passwords that you have to remember. If you are like me, it is hard to keep track of all of them. I put all of the usernames and passwords for each child into a small grid. I will be sending them to you individually in a different message. Additionally, I added the different sites we will be accessing over the next few weeks onto Clever. All of the students have access to Clever through the Dearborn Public Schools website. The link to the Student Portal is:

Once you are in the student portal, you click on Clever. You will need to logon with the Clever username and password, which is the same as the Google login. The username and password will be on the grid that I send you. Once the students login, they can click on “Just You”. It will take them to a page where I have added the links for Zearn and RazKids. I also added a link to the Google Meet website. The students will use their Google login in order to access this site. This can also be downloaded as an app, as well. I will be sending you a link tomorrow morning so that the kids can get onto Meet with the class and me. I will do one at 11:00 AM and one at 2:00 PM. Please choose which time works best for you and logon at that time. Tomorrow’s meetings will just be a check in and I will read a book to them. It is my hope to use Google Meet frequently and to meet with small groups, as well. Again, thank you so much for responding to me and being patient as we try to figure all of this out! I truly appreciate it! Have a great evening!

Thank you so much for picking up work for your children and being so flexible during this unprecedented event. I will be thinking of all of you during this time and send good health wishes to everyone. I am attaching the link to our Henry Ford Elementary page just in case you are unsure how to access it on the Dearborn Public Schools website. Please click the 1st grade link and you will find the daily assignments. We have been asked to make sure the students are doing their work so I will have to make sure your students have been on Zearn and Epic. I trust that you will all make sure your children are completing these assignments. You’re all the best! I would also like to read with the students via Skype or FaceTime. I may also look into Zoom to be able to “meet” with more than one student at a time. This would be a good time to answer any questions about Math. Please look out for a message with further details sometime this weekend. For now, please stay healthy!

Good evening! I hope that you are all doing well! Here are some pieces of information that I received from the school district in regard to Covid19. Ms. Blackburn and I spoke to the students today about ways that we can try to help prevent the spread of germs and viruses. We will continue to remind and keep a close eye on them. They are in good hands and we will get through this! Take care of yourselves!

Congratulations to our Student of the Month, Nada Alghami!! She displayed excellent behavior all month and is such an amazing little girl. One of the things that really stuck with me was when she put her sister’s feelings before her own last week. She was dealing with some major pain in her foot and when her parents said they could pick her up, she said no because it might upset her sister. I was so touched my her selflessness. Keep up the great work, Nada!!
