New School Year
As the new school year is approaching, there will be some changes to how we communicate student placement. This year, in order to help our community avoid large gatherings, class lists will not be posted. Instead, our classroom teachers will be e-mailing or calling the parents/guardians of students in their class. We will be having virtual orientation next week and classroom teachers will be sharing information about themselves, their class, and the focus for the upcoming school year via our classroom blogs.

Summer School Begins Monday, August 3rd.
Dear Parents,
I hope summer break has given you a nice vacation from the chaotic end of the school year. River Oaks is planning to begin online summer school next week, Monday, August 3rd. I will be meeting with small groups of students (3-5 children) in a video call. I plan on providing reading instruction for about 1 hour, 4 times a week, for 3 weeks. If you are interested in online summer school to help prepare your child for the coming school year, please email me by tonight. I will be putting together a list of families for the office staff to contact.
Stay Safe,
Mrs. Chancey
Have a Wonderful Summer!

- Report cards will be mailed to your home within the next few weeks!
- Thank you again to all of the parents who turned into teachers these last few months of school. You rock!!
- I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe summer. Please continue to have your child read on a daily basis and use all of the websites frequently (Raz Kids, IXL, etc…) to make sure they are prepared for second grade.
- I so much enjoyed having all of your children in class this year! I hope to see everyone in the Fall!
Dear Parents,
Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data.
This is especially critical now as our district faces a budget shortfall and teacher layoffs at a time when we should be reducing class sizes for health and safety during the pandemic. For a better future of our city, schools, and students, please click on the link now and fill out the census. It only takes a few minutes from your time to make a difference.
Complete the Census application here:
Sincerely,
Mrs. Chancey
