Math Retakes:  If your child is retaking the Unit 1 Math Test, it has been moved to Monday.

T-Shirts – Don’t forget orders are due tomorrow.  We would like everyone to purchase a t-shirt for their fifth grade year.

Reminder:  Tomorrow is our first Popcorn Day!  Don’t forget our 25 cents!

I am in need of 2 parents willing to take on the responsibility of being a fifth grade room mother! Oh my!!  If you are interested, please email me or send me a note as soon as possible.  I already have two parents that have graciously volunteered to do the slide show and one parent that has taken over the order for the t-shirts.  Thank you to these parents for volunteering and helping me out.

I am excited to announce that fifth grade t-shirt orders went home today.  We would like the entire fifth grade to have one of these exclusive shirts.  As well as ordering a shirt, students also have the opportunity to order pajama pants too.  We will be getting sample shirts in today or tomorrow to help with sizing.  We would like orders turned in by Friday if possible.  I would like to thank Mrs. Bowman for taking on this endeavor and getting this order going for the entire fifth grade!  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Welcome to the first week of fall, although it still feels like the middle of summer!  The classroom is very hot, so if your child wants to bring in a water bottle to have on hand throughout the day that is perfectly fine.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Madaleno for bringing in popsicles last Friday for the class!  The students were very grateful and really enjoyed them!😃

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  We have a busy week ahead of us with 2 tests!  Please make sure your child studies for these tests every night.

Spelling – I am excited to tell you we are now doing Spelling City.  Words will no longer be posted on my blog.  Students will have them in their planner or on paper and be able to go on Spelling City.       https://www.spellingcity.com/bushl/

We have two tests this week, Unit 1 in Math and Unit 1 in SS on Government.

Math Test – Thursday –  Study Guide will be given on Monday for Unit 1

SS Test – Friday – Study Guide was given to them on Thursday.  We will finish completing it on Monday.  This Government Unit is a review of third and fourth grade.  I apologize for the mix up with the page numbers.  We corrected some of it and will be correcting the review tomorrow.  Some of the “We the People”Books are older than others.

NWEA has been completed except for make ups.  Students will be forming goals based on their RIT scores.  We will begin this next week, once we have completed make ups.

Writing – This week we will begin Narrative Writing.

ELA – Reading Book Clubs will begin next week.

Book Fair will be open until Wednesday.

It was so nice to see all of you at Open House tonight!  I appreciate you coming to see your child’s classroom and talk to me.  We had a wonderful turnout!

Tomorrow is our first spelling test.

We have finished NWEA as of today except for makeups.  The students may bring in a junky snack tomorrow as a little celebration for being done.

Also, thank you so much for all the books that many of you purchased for the classroom.  😃 That was so thoughtful of you!

Open House is tonight from 6-7:30!  I am looking forward to meeting all my new parents!  Don’t forget to stop by the Book Fair and all the special area teachers!

We have a severe nut allergy in our classroom this year. Please do not send any nuts to school with your child in a snack or birthday treat.
