Next Years Registration

Beginning this week 6th and 7th graders can begin registering for classes next year. I highly encourage you to continue to participate in band and orchestra. The 6th grade groups have come so far since September and if you stick with your instrument you will only continue to progress and do more. Every 7th grade band and orchestra students is highly encouraged to continue. It is not easy to get a Division I rating at festival and both groups have done. Keep the excellence going.

Distant Learning 2 Accomodation

Sorry fo the delay. If you are choosing to do a writing assignment as opposed to the playing assignment here it is. Obviously if your instrument got left at school this is your only option, but if you don’t have time to practice or the performance assignment for the week is too difficult you are more than welcome to do this instead.

Follow the link below and email a paragraph on your thoughts. In years past Bryant’s 8th graders have played Russian Sailor’s Dance with DHS, so this piece is not as hard as it sounds. Do you link the piece? Favorite Parts? Instruments that stood out to you? use of dynamics? Anything that stands out and you find interesting.

Distant Learning 2

The last two weeks have had a great turn out of responses from band and orchestra members. I have received many great recordings and some really nice papers. Below are a list of this weeks assignments, I will post a written assignment tomorrow for anyone who can not get to their instrument or might find the writing easier. Remember the music pages password is: bryantband. If you are a 6th grader please check out the video Anna Karoub made regarding exercise #2 and sixteenth notes in the video section.

Lastly, please spend a few moments and reach out to some of your fellow band/orchestra mates. If you are an 8th grader you have spent the last three years making music this these people so a quick “Whats going on?” wouldn’t hurt (also, tell them to check the blog and do some work).

Just click on your instrument and the book will open. Several recording are also available and a video lesson on 16th notes will be up later this week.
