FOOTBALL 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians and Student Athletes:

The purpose of this letter is to share with you information and expectations for the upcoming Bryant Football season.  The coach’s goal this year is to make this season a successful and memorable one for your student.

Being a member of the football team comes with certain expectations.  Your student is expected to maintain good grades in the classroom.  In order to remain eligible, each student must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 at for each of the card marking periods.  If at any time any student falls below this mark, they will be dismissed from the team.

As a member of the football team your student is also representative of Bryant and the surrounding community.  All student athletes are expected to represent themselves, their family, and their school in a positive manner at all times.  Whether on campus or off campus, we expect their best behavior at all times.  Failure to demonstrate proper behavior will be dealt with individually and can result in dismissal from the team.

Students should be picked up within 15 minutes of the end of practice.  Practice generally runs from 3:15 to 5:15 PM and attendance at every practice is mandatory.  Excessive absences will result in their dismissal.  Students getting picked up from practice must be picked up by 5:30 PM.  On game days students will be arriving back to campus by 5:15 and should be picked up by 5:30 as well. PLEASE pick up players in a timely manner.

Team members are excused from class around 1:45pm on AWAY game days, and are expected to ride with the team to the game. Team members are excused from class around 2:30pm on HOME game days.  Any classwork missed because of early dismissal is the responsibility of the student. Students are expected to make contact with all necessary teachers to determine what they will miss and retrieve any homework.

Buses are provided to and from all away games.  If you wish to provide a ride home from the game for your student, you may do so.  However, please make contact with one of the coaches to let them know your student is leaving with you.  Students may not get a ride from another parent without signed permission.

SUMMER CONDITIONING/PRACTICE

The 1st day of conditioning/practice will be on Wednesday August 17th @ 3pm to 5pm. Conditioning will continue to be from 3pm to 5pm for the rest of that week/season. Please have players picked up by NO LATER THAN 5:15pm. Coaches cannot leave until players are picked up/Off school property.

ALL PLAYERS/STUDENTS MUST HAVE A FULLY COMPLETED SPORTS PHYSICAL ON THE 1ST DAY OF CONDITIONING/PRACTICE OR THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE UNTIL HAVING ONE. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE.

We are looking forward to a great season this year.  If at any time you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Coach Bryan Ban

BOYS SOCCER

Hello again gentlemen,

Sorry for the very late email; I have been trying to figure out this final roster for a couple hours now. It has not been an easy task, and working with only 20 spots has not been easy.

I need you to understand that the final roster was not chosen on any one thing alone. Please don’t compare yourself to someone who made the team and say “well I am faster than them” or anything like that. I had to really look at the numbers, look at the strengths and weaknesses, and put together a team not a group of individuals.

Even after looking at everything, I still can’t quite get the numbers where I need to be. So what is going to happen is we will be practicing with 22, and I will have to cut 2 more this week. Think of it as a “Third Round.”
Now, there still may be some players on this roster who are actually affiliated with a club team, and if that’s the case a spot or two may open up. I also need to look at GPAs and make sure we have no issues there. I will let you know if I need you to fill that spot.
To start, I need the following three Keepers to show up tomorrow for a second look:

Keeper Callbacks
Malik Sabra 7th
Mohamad Beydoun 7th
Khaled Adam 8th

As it stands, these are the people I would like to return for practice tomorrow 3:35-5:30. However, 2 will be cut by the end of the week:

MuhammadJawad DabajaAbbas OsmanGabriel Pecovic
Bahaa SaadTalal FarajMohamad Kabalan

Hadi MedlejRayan Ibrahim
Ali DaherIssa Termos
Kumail AlshimaryYusuf Alhaswani
Khalil Atwi
Hadi Nasser
Ahmad Bazzi
Jad Ilayan
Adam Hamade

If you have issues please take them up with me and do not cause problems with your fellow classmates. If you need to talk to me, do not go to my room tomorrow, 8th graders will be taking the PSAT test there. —
