Mr. Browns science I blog

The week of August 31st thru September 4th

Hello 8th grade wildcats. I’m sitting here with my dog Frank. Frank is a wiener dog, commonly called a Dachshund. Frank likes to get on my lap and get in the way of my typing. I hope there are not many typos on my blog. I went to a high school called Gabriel Richard. I wasn’t much of a student probably because I played three sports. I played football in the fall, I fenced in the winter. Do you know what fencing is? I also ran track in the springtime. After graduation I enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served six years as an aircraft mechanic. Those were fun times as I could get as much chocolate ice cream as I wanted. It is my favorite flavor. What’s yours? When my enlistment was up, I enrolled at the University of Detroit and received degrees in Biology and chemistry. Upon graduation I worked for a lab analyzing soil, water and air samples for harmful contaminates. Soon after I went into education. For me to get certified, I had to get to get my masters degree, This is my twenty third year teaching. I know that this pandemic has altered the way we teach and learn but I hope it is only temporary. We are all going to be using technology like schoology and zoom so I am asking for your patience as you and I become more proficient in these new technologies. We will run into glitches and bugs, but that is to be expected. As wildcats we will overcome and become better and better as the weeks go on. We will be moving slowly (baby steps) and soon we will be running like superstars as the years progresses. I am looking forward to meeting you and learning more about you.
