  • America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit

    • Admission: Free

    “90 Years Together” is the theme of this year’s parade that features floats, marching bands, holiday characters and more on Thanksgiving morning.

  • ScienceFest: Space Odyssey at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

    Nov. 25-27, 2016

    • Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday-Saturday, noon-4 p.m. Sunday

  • Holly Dickens Festival

    Nov. 25-27, Dec. 3-4 and 10-11, 2016

    • Address: Downtown area, Holly
    • Time: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25; then 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays
    • Admission: Free

    Scrooge’s era comes to life in downtown Holly during this annual event – complete with Dickens characters, a parade, tree lighting and more for families.

  • Santa’s Arctic Landing at the Henry Ford Museum

    Journey to the North Pole to learn about aviation’s early pioneers, plus get a photo with Santa.

    “It’s a Gingerbread Thing” is the theme of year 56 of this annual parade – complete with floats, live music and an appearance by Santa.

  • Winter Fantasyland at the Kennedy Memorial Building

    • Address: Kennedy Memorial Building, 3240 Ferris Ave., Lincoln Park
    • Time: 5-8 p.m. Nov. 26; then 4-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 2-8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, closed Monday-Tuesday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 24
    • Admission: $1

    See the elves work to make Christmas happen, visit Santa and more at this annual immersive display in Lincoln Park.

    Nature By Design at Matthaei Botanical Gardens

    This exhibit, which opens this Saturday, allows you to immerse yourself in colors, patterns, textures and shapes found in nature, and all created by local artists.
