We will have a small dinner on Tuesday 11-20-18 to celebrate Thanksgiving with our students. It will be in the cafeteria at 2:00. Parents are welcome.

These are the words for the month of November. Please help your child to read and write these words: the, a, I, to, see, like, and is.

Please continue to wear or bring gym shoes on Monday and Friday. Boots are not allowed in the gym.

We will continue to go outside as much as possible. Please make sure your child had a warm coat, hat , mittens, and boots when needed.

Thanks to all of the parents that came on Thursday night. Reminders will be sent home on Monday  for your date and times  for the next conferences.

Conferences are coming up in the next 2 weeks on 11-8, 11-13, and 11-15, 2018. I will send home reminders of your date and time. Please send back in the green folder that the date and time are acceptable.

Please let me know if you will need a translator.

Hi the PTA is requesting gently used and clean costumes to be stored at school for future events with the students.

Our class party will be on Wednesday 10-31-18. The party should start at 2:50 and go to 3:20pm.

If you are interested you can bring wrapped candy to pass out for each student. I have goody bags that can be filled and sent home. There are 23 students in the class. If possible, let me know what you plan on bringing by Wednesday.

For your planning purposes:

1. 1/2 day on Friday November 2  2018 students will get out at 11:45. This is a planning afternoon for the teachers.
2. No School on Tuesday November 6, 2018 it is Election Day and aPD for the teachers.
3. Parent/Teacher Conferences- 11-8, 11-13, 11-15, 2018. 12 Parents have signed up so far and I will send home reminders and dates and times still available for those who did not sign up yet.

On Wednesday, October 31st, students will be allowed to bring costumes to school.  Students will not be able to wear their costumes during the morning, but may put them on in the afternoon prior to our Halloween Parade at 2:30 PM.  Weather permitting, we will walk around the neighborhood of the school during the parade and then have time for class parties.  Parents are welcome to participate in the parade around the neighborhood, but must check into the office first in order to obtain a visitor’s pass. If it rains the parade will be around the inside of the school.

Notes about costumes:

PLEASE DO NOT WEAR COSTUMES TO SCHOOL. Instead, bring your labeled costume in a bag, with your student’s name on it.  Students will be able to change into their costumes in the afternoon. Students may NOT dress up as anything that contains inappropriate, bloody looking, or would be considered scary for younger students who may be frightened by these costumes due to images they may have seen in the media. Weapons or toys that resemble weapons are NOT permitted. Most classrooms will have their parties at 2:50 – 3:20, please check your classroom teacher’s blog for more information.
