Welcome Back Update!

Welcome Back! Hope everyone had a restful and happy Spring Break Staycation. I know it was nice for me to relax and get some projects done around the house! My husband and I were able to do a really cool project on our stairs that turned out really cool!

This week, we are starting to read the book, “The City of Ember”. If you have not read it yet, here is a description from GoodReads.Com

Many hundreds of years ago, the city of Ember was created by the Builders to contain everything needed for human survival. It worked…but now the storerooms are almost out of food, crops are blighted, corruption is spreading through the city and worst of all—the lights are failing. Soon Ember could be engulfed by darkness…

But when two children, Lina and Doon, discover fragments of an ancient parchment, they begin to wonder if there could be a way out of Ember. Can they decipher the words from long ago and find a new future for everyone? Will the people of Ember listen to them?

Follow the slides in Google Classroom to read along and complete your assignments! Be on the lookout for a weekly schedule of assignments for ALL your classes, in one spot, that you should be getting Monday morning!

Clarification

Happy Spring!

I just wanted to clarify a couple things I have had questions about. First, I am encouraging students to complete any work from the quarter that they need to. We have no word yet about how grades will be done or when they will be completed, but I encourage you to complete your incomplete work.

In addition, the other work is in Google Classroom. Follow the link to CommonLit to read and complete the work there. Again, reach out for questions as needed! -Mrs. Bender

Parents & Students, Please Read!

As a reminder, teachers are still posting enrichment work on their Google Classrooms for students to complete. As of right now, I have many students who have not logged in to start the work I posted Sunday. Parents, please have your students open their work and show you that it is completed. I will be sending emails home to parents this evening of those students I have still not received work from. Our goal is to retain as much of what we learned this year as possible!

Also, please make sure any incomplete work in Google Classroom from this quarter is turned in. We do not have word yet on what they will be doing about grades, but cover your bases and get everything turned in. — Mrs. Bender

As always, contact me via email with any questions or concerns and keep working on Google Classroom!
