8th Grade assignment Genetic Map

8th Graders should make a representation of where they got some of their genetic traits.  You do not need to reveal any personal information that you don’t want to.  If you don’t know where you got a trait you can say that it is uniquely you.

McUbots Trip to FIRST Championships

The McUbots will Join the Bryant team on a trip to the FIRST World Championships at Cobo Hall on Friday, April 26.

In an effort to connect our Robotics team with other teams around the world, we will be going on a field trip to the FIRST Robotics World Championships on Friday, April 26, 2019, hosted at COBO Center in Detroit. Students will be given the opportunity to watch competitions, walk through the crew pits, and engage in conversation with elementary to high school students from across the globe.

We will leave school about 9:15 am and return to Unis about 1:00 pm.

The cost of the field trip is $10.00. This covers the cost of the bus and snacks.  Students should bring a sack lunch to school. We will be eating lunch upon our return to school.

In order to attend this trip, permission slips and money must be turned in to Mr. Bates no later than Tuesday, April 23rd.  Permission slips were handed out at the McUbots meeting on Thursday and are available by clicking the link below.

Welcome Parents and Students to Conferences

Our goal for students at Unis is success. We know that success may look different for each student. We also know that when students take responsibility for their own learning, each student is more successful. Student conferences are an opportunity for students to show their parents or other significant adult what they are doing in class and how they are taking charge of their own learning. In my science class conferences will be student led. The way it works is when students and their parents check in they will pick up a script that will direct them to a series of stations will guide students and their parents in a discussion. Students will explain various components of their science learning activities to their parents. Parents are encouraged to ask their child questions about how learning takes place, how students know if they are successful and what their child does when they are struggling.
See you at conferences
