Jan 29th We are working to build a learning Community in our Classroom

Students completed a goal setting worksheet to help plan for their success this week and shared their goal with the class.

Many students were challenged by the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning part of the work so we did a mini-workshop on writing using claim, evidence and reasoning. Students will improve their chances for success if they redo a low score, including on this assignment. It is attached below if you need it. See the guidelines for redo’s in your handout from last week on Classroom Grading and Work Policies.

Nov 18th Welcome to Day 2 of Student – Parent Conferences

Tonight is the 2nd opportunity for student parent conferences. They will be held from 3:15 to 6:15. Students should bring their science folder in order to have the most productive conference. Student report cards can be picked up in the gym.

Nov 18th Science using the IXL online learning tool.

Last week science students began using the IXL online learning tool. Students were assigned three topics to complete last week, Identify lab tools, Introduction to Natural Selection, Construct Explinations of Natural Selection.

This week students have been assigned two more topics to complete: Identify the steps of the scientific method and Understanding Cells.
