Puzzle Book Project-
Students are working on a puzzle book project in the room. They will bring their poster board home on Friday to finish their illustrations and cut their puzzle. The students may need adult assistance to cut the puzzle. (An exacto knife works quite well.) Directions for cutting the puzzle will be passed out on Friday. The cut puzzles are due on Tuesday 12/20.

Our room moms are asking that the notes sent from them last week be returned to school as soon as possible. If there is a problem please contact them.

The musical instrument science project which was assigned last week is due tomorrow. It is required for third graders and optional extra credit for fourth graders!!

Santa Shop is this week!

Your child(ren) will have the opportunity to shop secretly and experience the joy and excitement of holiday gift-giving. The shop is set up and supervised by parents, and your young shopper can purchase gifts conveniently and inexpensively while learning to budget their money. All items are priced at $2.00.

A reminder of your child(ren)’s shopping day and a money envelope and checklist
were sent home last week.

All December Scrip orders are due Wednesday, Dec 14th! I will be placing the order that evening, and gift cards will arrive on Friday afternoon at the earliest, but most likely will not come in until Monday afternoon. Math-
We will be taking times multiplication tests each week. The first one was taken today. I graded them and sent them home. Please ask your student to see today’s test. Both 3rd and 4th graders should be practicing multiplication facts every night.

4th graders are learning several different methods for multi-digit multiplication. They may use the method they prefer on the test. The methods are all on the Everyday Math site. Asking your student to show you the different methods is a great learning opportunity for them.

3rd graders will need to be able to solve single digit multiplication problems with a missing factor or product and word problems. Please practice these skills at home.

Social Studies-

4th grade- We are studying about immigration to the U.S. through the years. Ask you student what we did today!!

3rd grade- We are studying the French and English who settled Michigan. Ask your student what we did today!!

Science
3rd grade- They have a project due next week. Ask you student about it.

4th grade- We are studying matter.

Writing
Ask your student about their opinion piece about the ant!!

Secret Santa Shop is a secret holiday shopping experience for our kids to shop for Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Grandma, Grandpa, Teacher, Dog, Cat, etc… Each item is $2. We need helpers for set up, tear down, shopping assistance, and register. Please consider volunteering for a shift or two!

**If your student is bringing home an unfinished Dynamath due Wednesday…please know that they were given them at the beginning of the month. They are actually suppose to be working on them in the room when they are done with their regular work. They are encouraged to collaborate with other students to finish these during the month. These are not “at home” items so I do not encourage them to bring them home. If your child is not done, ask them if they are working on it at school.

**They will be getting the December Dynamath on Dec. 1st. Please have your child bring it back to school if they bring it home. It is not meant to be done at home.
