Class updates

cat wearing winter clothes

I hope you are enjoying your cold days off from school.  Here are some updates for you so you can plan ahead.  I know you are not in school, but it might be a good idea to use some of your time to study for our upcoming tests.

Social Studies

Colonial port city street scene.

Due to our snow/cold days the Social Studies test is being moved to Wednesday Feb. 6th.  Your study guides were passed out two weeks ago and you were required to take your materials home yesterday.  So since you can’t go outside, it might be a good idea to use some of this time to study a little.  Don’t forget that there are some videos here on the blog that I have shown in class, articles on Readworks, the online textbook in Google Classroom, Ducksters, and all your notes in your binder that you can use to study.

Math

pizza fraction addition proble

The math test has been moved to Friday, Feb. 8th.  Don’t forget you have homework!  It’s due the next day we are in school.  Also, videos of all the math lessons in Module 3 are here on the blog.  There are Math Antics videos that might help you as well.  The entire test is adding and subtracting fractions.  Maybe you could have a parent, sibling, or friend make up problems for you to practice.

Reading

Finally, don’t forget that the Readworks article, Snow Day Fever, is due Friday.  The article Colonization and the Revolutionary War: Background to the Colonies was due 1/28.  You had time at school, but if you haven’t finished either of these yet please be sure you do.  They are both due the next day we are in school.

Have a safe and warm day.  See you in school!

Answer this riddle in your planner, have a parent sign your planner, and be ready to show me the day we get back to school!

Community Service Projects

Community Service Projects

The students of Lindbergh have decided to do two community service projects.  This helps out the community by us giving to those that are in need. We are sharpening our saw by helping our hearts.  Please consider giving to one of our projects.

  1. Dearborn Animal Shelter

The Dearborn Animal Shelter is located on Michigan Ave. behind the Police Station.  They take care of many unwanted pets. Due to the amount of animals they need our help.  The shelter is in need of many new items to help take care of the animals. Here is a list of a few needed items for dogs and cats. Cats need unopened bags or boxes of dry Purina cat food, dishes and cat clay litter- non clumping. Dogs need Nylon 6 ft. leashes and collars, unopened bags of dry Pedigree dog food. Both cats and dogs need new fleece blankets, toys and treats. We are collecting until the end of February. Put the donations in the box by the Auditorium.

  1. Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor provides a “home away from home” for families of children experiencing a serious illness or injury required hospitalization in the Ann Arbor area.

The Ronald McDonald House needs pop tabs to turn in and they can recycle them for money.  Please bring your pop tabs to school and put them in your classroom container. We are collecting until the end of May.

Scents

Please supervise and advise students when they are applying perfume, cologne, and/or body spray.  Several students this week have come to school wearing scents applied very generously, which has resulted in over-powering scents in our room.  We all live in very close quarters all day and have no way of moving away from each other.  The scents have been a distraction and some some members of our class  have been physically bothered by them as well.  Thank you for your help in this matter.
