Human Growth and Development

Permission slips have been sent home for the fifth grade’s upcoming Human Growth and Development Unit.  This unit is a part of our fifth grade curriculum.  We need the permission slips to come back from each student indicating whether they will be participating in the unit or not.  Please be sure to send this slip back to school as soon as possible.

Camp meals

Many parents have returned their student’s dietary restrictions sheet with concerns about the food being served.  Camp Tamarack has a kosher food service.  No outside food can be brought into the dining hall.  If your child has an allergy, please send in the dietary restrictions sheet and we will make sure that it is passed on to the camp.  We will make sure that students with allergies are introduced to the serving staff. If your student has dietary restrictions that require they do not consume certain foods for reasons other than allergies, please be sure that they know what their restrictions might entail before they leave for camp.  The students will be in charge of making sure they are following these dietary rules. Each meal served also has a vegetarian option.  The food is actually quite good and students in the past have had no problem finding plenty to eat in the dining hall, regardless of allergies and/or dietary restrictions.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 313-827-6300 or hicksol@dearbornschools.org

Fifth Grade Slide Show

baby ith a surprised face

Just a couple of reminders from our parents working on the slide show:

1. Please send in baby pictures ASAP.  These should be individual pictures of your fifth grader.  Please be sure to include their name.

2. Please send in pictures of your child in school related activities k-5.  Because there are so many kids to include, individual pictures will be less frequent than group photos, so please send lots of those!

Photos can be sent to:
