The students have been asked to bring a personal junkie snack tomorrow, Monday June 8th.
Science Test
We will be having a science test on Wednesday June 3rd. The students were notified of this last week and were asked to write it in their planners and take their science materials home. I’m hoping they did this. They were given 55 minutes of class time today to review the material and their study guides. They should be bringing their materials home tonight and Tuesday night. I am having all of them put it in their backpacks so I hope it makes it home.

Field trips
I would like to thank the following parents and grandparents who helped our class by coming along to the DIA last Friday:
Jeannette Capote
Barb Mitchell
Anthony Sleath
Robert Milligan
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fourth grade WILL be going on a field trip in June. If you are not sure if your background check is still valid, please check now. They expire after three years and several parents were unable to go to the DIA because their background checks had expired. If you check now you may still have time to have it updated. Please note****I am not taking names for possible chaperones yet. I will ask for parents when we send the permission slip home.
NWEA Tests and PBiS
**Just a reminder that we are taking the NWEA tests this week. I know it seems like we have been testing a lot…we have. These tests are important for several reasons so please try to motivate your child to do their best!!! They will not have homework but you can review basic skills in the subject areas being tested each evening. Encourage your student to “finish strong.”
We have had a increase in clip moves because students are having a hard time following directions. We also, unfortunately, have had a rise in rude and disrespectful behavior towards both adults and other students. Please discuss with your student the importance of ending the school year on a high note. A discussion about our school expectations as well as a reminder about common courtesy would be helpful for Room 204 to have a happy May and June.
Classroom Update
This week we will take three days of M-Step tests.

Science- May 7

We will be finding fractions of sets, equivalent fractions, converting fractions to decimals, figuring out probability based on fractions, and solving word problems involving fractions. Students not solid on their multiplication and/or division facts may have trouble with some of these activities. All students need to practice their facts everyday at home.
