Math: First check yesterday’s answers using the pages below.

Sorry, the picture won’t go the right way up no matter what I do…

Now you will watch the video for Lesson 4, do Lesson 4 ZEARN, work on the application problem, problem set, and homework. You will be multiplying to find volume. You have done this in class with me so it is not new. Remember length x width x height = Volume! You’ve got this! 😉

When you are done you can do work on Moby Max, Khan Academy, or M Step practice. The link for M Step practice can be found on the right in Class Links.

ELA Read the article “Through the Eyes of Sadako Sasaki” then complete the questions. Remember you can look back in the article to answer the questions.

The answers to the Sylvia Mendez article are #9-A #10-B. If you did not have the correct answers, try to look back in the article to see if you understand why those are the correct answers.

Read the next few chapters of the novel I gave you. You will have a reading response to do on google classroom. If you have not done Tuesday’s prediction response or yesterday’s setting response please complete those. Make sure you are clicking Turn In when you are done.

Read another one of the Articles of the Day on Readworks and write three facts you learned or relearned from the article. Please do not copy and paste.

Spelling-There is a new list on Spelling city. Please practice the words so you can become a better speller. When you feel you are ready, have someone test you on the new words.

Social Studies: As we continue on the Road to Revolution, things are getting serious. There is a video I sent to your email that you can watch. You have to download then click on the video. It is me talking about all the events from this week so far. Then watch this Liberty’s Kids to see what happens next! See if you can figure out who is doing the voice for Paul Revere! 😉

For more information read this Ducksters Biography about Paul Revere.

The final video is a reading of the famous poem “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Science

Today’s Mystery Science mini lesson link is below. After watching the video, go to google classroom and answer questions in the assignment titled Hand Sanitizer. When you complete this assignment, hit Turn In.

How Does Hand Sanitizer Kill Germs?

I found an awesome site that has astronauts reading while they are in the International Space Station. Here is a video of “Max Goes to the Moon.”

Finally, today I have a video of an astronaut brushing his teeth in space. I just think these are interesting and kind of funny! 🙂

Don’t forget about Mo Willems and Doodle Lunch at 1:00. It is on the Kennedy Center site or you can just watch this one from yesterday.

You can also watch live shows of animals at the Cincinnati Zoo at 3:00 on their Facebook page. Here is the one from earlier this week with Fiona the hippo!

Please email me with questions, problems, suggestions, or just to say hey at hicksol@dearbornschools.org.

Happy Thursday! We made it almost a whole week! You are all doing great! Stay safe! See you tomorrow!
