on May 12, 2020

Students, if you are turning in an assignment on Google classroom that was assigned 5/4 – 5/8 please email me that you have turned it in. (This DOES NOT apply to students who are up to date with assignments.) Google classroom doesn’t notify me when you hand it in. This is not necessary for current assignments that were made this week 5/11 – 5/15.  I will not be accepting work from the weeks of 4/20 and 4/27 unless there is a health or technology issue that you contact me about.

************Don’t forget that Mrs. Baloga, Mr. Harvey, Mr. Goeke, Mrs Ackerman, Mrs. Poisson, and Mr. Kwiecien have assignments on Google classroom for you to work on.************

Science

This week we are working with Mystery 4. Today, continue to watch the Mystery and try the experiment. You will need the pages from the assignment, 2 worms, a paper plate, paper towels, water, a dark piece of paper, and a pencil.  The pages for the activity are on the Google Classroom assignment labeled Mystery 4. You will need to print them out. If you don’t have a printer, watch the video and look through the pages. If you do not have access to these materials, don’ t worry.  You can print or look at the pages and watch Doug do it.  This is a 2 part activity. If you got worms, you should do both parts at the same time so they can go back outside when you are done. You should have your anchor phenomenon papers handy and a blank page to take notes if you need it. Stop at step 15 of part 2, We will do the wrap up and anchoring phenomenon connection tomorrow. Spelling: You have a new list on Spelling City with lots of fun activities and a test on Friday. If you don’t log in through Google it will not record any of your activities or your test for me to see.

Writing: Think about a superpower you would like to have. A superpower could be flying, invisibility, super speed, super strength, being bulletproof, controlling the weather etc. Why would you like that super power? How would you use it? Please complete the writing assignment, My Superpower, on Google Classroom correctly and completely by Thursday. (Remember that a superpower does NOT involve a weapon. Please do not include weapons in your writing.)

Social Studies: After the battles of Trenton and Saratoga were won by the Americans, the French started to see the war a bit differently. See what happens with Ben Franklin in France during the videos. The last video is kind of a fun one. Watch the videos and then go to Google Classroom to complete the assignment.
