Mrs. Hickson's Class

Dearborn Public Schools

5/8

on May 8, 2020

We will attempt to have a meeting using Big Blue Button which is through iLearn at 1:00 today. Please bring your poetry to share. You will go to our iLearn course and will go to the heading Live Meeting. Then you will click on the date, 5/8, and will join the meeting. You will want to join with your microphone. If you join without it you will not be able to turn it on during the meeting to share. If all goes well, I will see you all at 1:00!

Students, if you are turning in an assignment on Google classroom that was assigned 4/27 – 5/1 please email me that you have turned it in. (This DOES NOT apply to students who are up to date with assignments.) Google classroom doesn’t notify me when you hand it in. This is not necessary for current assignments that were made this week 5/4 – 5/8.  I will not be accepting work from the week of 4/20 unless there is a health or technology issue that you contact me about.

Also, some assignments are created by me and some are created by Mrs. Stetz. You should be doing all of them. This is similar to what we did in school but you might not have been aware of it.

************Don’t forget that Mrs. Baloga, Mr. Harvey, Mr. Goeke, Mrs Ackerman, Mrs. Poisson, and Mr. Kwiecien have assignments on Google classroom for you to work on.************

Happy Friday! Let’s get your brain and body awake and ready for the day!

Science

If you have not completed the Mystery 2 quiz in Google Classroom, please complete it today by 2.

ELA: You have no new reading assignments for the day. Use today as your catch up day to finish the three Readworks assignments from this week. Then you can work on Raz Kids. I have begun a read aloud of the book The Bad Beginning from A Series of Unfortunate Events. The video link is in Google Classroom under the topic A Bad Beginning. I will add a new chapter every school day.

Spelling: You have a test to take today on Spelling City. If you haven’t done the other spelling activities on Spelling City you can work on those today too.

Social Studies: You have a reading only assignment on Google Classroom. Please be sure to read the text carefully so you will better understand the people and events in the videos.

If you have not watched the video from Wednesday you will need to do that first. Then watch today’s video so you can do the assignment on Google Classroom. If you have not done the assignment called American in Paris & Sybil Ludington, you will need to finish that as well.
