Happy Tuesday! I know it’s hard to get back into the swing of things. I hope today is easier than yesterday.
Please check through Google classroom to see what assignments you may be missing. Please complete assignments from before spring break if you have not done so already.
Students, if you are turning in an assignment on Google classroom that was assigned 3/16 – 4/3, please email me that you have turned it in. (This DOES NOT apply to students who are up to date with assignments.) Google classroom doesn’t notify me when you hand it in. This is not necessary for current assignments that were made this week, 4/13 – 4/17.
Also, some assignments are created by me and some are created by Mrs. Stetz. You should be doing all of them. This is similar to what we did in school but you might not have been aware of it.
Don’t forget that Mrs. Baloga, Mr. Harvey, Mr. Goedke, and Mrs Ackerman have assignments on Google classroom for you to work on.
Let’s wake up to a little Pop See Ko!!!

Today we are working on multiplying mixed number factors, relating the distributive model to the area model. (Or, showing that multiplying part by part and adding them up is the same as tiling or making smaller boxes in your area problem.) We will do problem set numbers 1-2 and homework numbers 1,3. Then watch and do the application problem and fluency practice. You can do fluency on paper.

Social Studies: After the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the British went back to Boston. The Colonial Army kept them trapped there so they could not go out and attack other cities and towns. The British were still able to get supplies because they controlled Boston Harbor and the colonies did not have a navy. This lasted for months. The British had a hard time getting food because all their food had to be shipped from Britain and it often did not make it to Boston. The Colonial Army needed to get the British out of Boston without letting them go through the land. Remember when they took over Fort Ticonderoga? That becomes important now.
If you have not watched yesterday’s Liberty’s Kids watch it now. It focuses on several important events. One is the Colonial Army and their weaknesses, Washington’s famous speech convincing many of the soldiers to stay instead of go home when their enlistment time was done, the bringing of the cannons through the winter wilderness from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston, and the end of the siege of Boston. There is an assignment on Google classroom today. Please do not hand it in until you have viewed all the videos and read all the materials. You should probably take notes as you watch and read.
