Is America’s Next Top Young Scientist in Your Classroom?
Now open for entries, the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge encourages 5th-8th grade students to share their big idea that applies science to life to help solve an everyday problem. Submit a 1-2 minute video for a chance to win $25,000, an exclusive 3M mentorship and more!

How Can My Students Enter? What Will They Win?
Entering is simple!
Encourage your students to register for the challenge at YoungScientistChallenge.com and submit a 1-2 minute YouTube video describing a new invention or solution to improve an everyday problem. Submit videos by April 20, 2016. Students will be evaluated on their scientific knowledge, creativity, and effective communication skills. The top 10 finalists will participate in an exclusive summer mentorship with a 3M Scientist, and travel to 3M’s World Headquarters in St. Paul, MN this October to compete for $25,000 and the title of America’s Top Young Scientist! Up to 51 State Merit Winners will also be recognized and win a 3M technology prize pack.
