Recap of March 30 to April 3

Español I

This week, just like last week, both homework assignments have been found on the calendario, listed on the day for which they are due. The main resource to do these assignments is the vocabulary list, which if students don’t have one, an extra can be found on the calendario. These assignments should not take more than twenty minutes and are a good way to review the material we had been learning a few weeks ago. The last assignment before Spring Break is 100 XP in Duolingo and can be completed until Friday evening.

This is a duplicate of the Mistar Mass Email, that was sent out this morning:

Hello all,

I’m sure you have heard from other teachers about plans for lessons and activities the next three weeks. For Spanish, it is quite simple. Students will go to their calendario, which is used weekly in the classrooms (for Spanish 1: tinyurl.com/DHScalendario1 and Spanish 2: tinyurl.com/DHScalendario2), and complete the assignments each week. There will be a total of two assignments per week.

The first assignment will be due on a Wednesday, and the second assignment will be do on a Friday. These assignments will get posted in advance, so students can do these a day before or even earlier. All of the assignments are found on the student’s calendario and are easy to use Google Forms, which all students have often used in our classroom.

The first homework assignment is a simple check-in. This will be due at the end of the day on Wednesday, and again can be found on the student’s calendario. If there are any questions, please send them to me at bareram@dearbornschools.org. For more information also check my iBlog at iblog.dearbornschools.org/barera/.

Recap of March 9 to March 13

Español I

Last week in Spanish 1, students continued work with what is in their “backpack” talking about their interests. Students also begin learning the grammar: ER/IR present tense of verbs. On Friday there was no class due to the coronavirus. For the cancellation of in-person classes, over the next three weeks, students will have six assignments to complete. The first assignment will simply be to check in with me, so I know that students have access to complete these assignments. The assignments will be of a grammar, vocabulary, or authentic nature, very similar to what is done in class. These assignments will all be found on the class calendario, which each students knows how to find and access. A mass Mistar e-mail will be sent out early next week explaining this.

Last week in Spanish 2, students continued work with their Independence Day from last year. Students also begin learning the grammar: ER/IR preterite past tense of verbs.
