Español I
Last week, students in Spanish 1 continued to learn and practice descriptions in Spanish for people. Students played a Spanish version of the game Guess Who? with celebrities from the US and Spanish-speaking countries. Later in the week, students watched a movie called También la lluvia, (Even the Rain) which taught students about the struggles in some Latin American countries, specifically highlighting the 2000 Cochabamba protests over the privatization of the water supply in the country.
Español II
Last week, students in Spanish 2 began the week by giving presentations on recipes of foods from Spanish-speaking countries. Students did a very nice job with their culminating Chapter 6 project. Later in the week, students began to learn with the new Chapter 7: health vocabulary in context, as well as listening to authentic commercials for health products in Spanish.
