Spring Break- March 30 – April 8
My email is ballnic@dearbornschools.org
I did not send home the newsletter because it is not Friday and I am saving paper.
We will not have a spelling test until the Friday that we return with the same spelling words from this week.
Please study the ge, lge, dge, nge and rge words during the break. The list is located in the March 23rd newsletter or IBLOG.
I also gave books to students that needed new ones, but don’t forget about visiting the library to get many more books.
There are two logs to keep track of books and minutes read. One is for the raffle for the bike and one is for our school. Please bring these back after the break. The bike log is just for books that have been read.
If you have a computer, please use RAZKIDS for reading, with the code for our class being bcheryl2 (that is a l, not a 1-one). Next, the student finds their name in my class and then uses their ID number for their password. Please email if your child does not know their id number. The school is paying for a year of RAZKIDS and students read at their level and take quizzes on their reading.
Math can be practiced with FrontRow and the code is Balln5.
Please don’t let your child have a “week off”. Reading and math skills fall behind, if we do not keep them up.
I am proud our class because most did so well on the unit 8 math test. I can send these home after break upon request. I will show them to all the students today, so your child should be able to tell you how many right out of the 10 points.

A BIG THANK-YOU!
Thank-you to the 5 chaperones (and others that volunteered, if we needed them). Thank-you to Jana’s dad, Murtada’s dad, Ayatt’s mom, Sally’s mom and Ayah’s mom for coming to the Dearborn Historical museum with us. It was very nice to have you all! We wrote a story about what we saw and learned about. It was a very interesting trip!
Our last field trip will be to go to the Cranbrook Science Museum on May 29th. We will go all day and I will need 5 parents for this. Parents will be free. Please tell me if you would be able to go, watch a small group of students and help them do a scavenger hunt with places in the museum. Thank-you for volunteering.
