SCIENCE

    Thank-you to everyone that has sent in the Mystery Bags.   Please send them in, if you have not.  It is important to be able to describe things (matter) with properties (describing words).  Ask your child to describe something that you pick up and see how well they speak about it.

  Post-its are another need of the class. Please send some in, if you are able to.  Thank-you to those that sent some in.

PLANNERS– Please send these every day because we use them. The spelling words will be written in them, also. There is a charge, if a planner is lost.

SPELLING WORDS FOR NEXT WEEK ARE Different words with LONG VOWELS THAT END IN E.

The words will be; bake, case, face, fuse, hide, home, kite, lime, mule, note, page, rose, size, time, tune. 

Social Studies– Please continue to point out things that you see as you walk/ride through our COMMUNITY of Dearborn.  We are studying about community.  There are natural characteristics (tree, river, grass) and human characteristics (bridge, road, store) of our community to be seen.  Please discuss these as you see them at home.   Can your child name the 5 characteristics of a community? Transportation, Buildings, Natural Characteristics, Places to have Fun and Businesses.  What does each of these categories mean to your child?    

Reading Bags are still needed.  I do not have enough to lend everyone that has not sent in one.  They may end up with a big zip lock bag.  Thank-you, if you sent a book bag in.

Math- The first test will come home by parent request.  Please ask if you want to see the Module (unit) 1 math test.  I have only had one request.

Please get a centimeter/inch ruler, if your child does not have one.  They should measure a lot at home with it.

Thank-you if you signed up for Class Dojo.  It is a very nice message system.   Please ask if you did not get a password from your child.  Passwords have already been sent home, but I will get you another letter to you with the password,  if you send a note, email or call me.
