7th Grade: Finish microslide activity on roots.  Finish passive and active transport notes pp. 34-37 from chapter 2.  Begin photosynthesis/respiration concept map project. 

8th Grade:  Finish minerals notes from Inside Restless Earth textbook pp. 4-7.  Check your student g mail for the assignments. Begin  mineral properties lab.

Finish slides from Thursday Science, study guide Tuesday and test on Wednesday on chapter 1.  Take Tuesday’s study guide home to study.  Have a parent or guardian signature and earn extra credit on Wednesday’s test!

8th Grade:

Do matter review Monday. Test on Tuesday on matter chapter 1.  Take Monday’s review home to study and have a parent or guardian signature and earn extra credit on Tuesday’s test!  Wednesday we will construct matter Frayer models and complete a matter essay regarding on four general properties of matter.

9/19 to 9/20

7th Grade:  We are using pp. 4-7 from the Cells textbook.   We are also doing Frayer Models and scientists of the Cell Theory concept maps in class.  Guided notes from ppt slides 1-6 should be finished.  Students should check their g mail for that assignment from last week.

8th Grade:  Volume and mass labs in class.  We are using general properties of matter chapter 1 from the Prentice Hall textbook pp. 11-12.

Required and Suggested Supplies

7th and 8th Graders:  Please check your student email for class rules on 9/13.  The materials list includes:

  • Required Supplies: Folder with pockets, lined paper for notes in a 3-ring binder or spiral notebook, pencil, headphones or earbuds and reading book
  • It is suggested that you bring colored pencils, markers and a hand pencil sharpener, but these items are not required.

7th and 8th Grades

Finish interest inventory and class rules.  Pick one of the following helpful hints from slide 14 of the interest inventory or think of your own to illustrate on a piece of copy paper.  Include the hint and color the drawing.
