Hello parents!

I need 2 more chaperones for our field trip to Lansing. If your child is not going, please write on the form ” I do not want my child to participate” sign and return. The due date is March 15th.

In addition, for March is Reading month, I would like to have parents come in as guest readers to read to the class. If you would like to come in this month, please let me know the date and time. I will see if that would with our schedule. Hopefully I get a lot of volunteers : )

Hello parents,

I finally had some free time to upload lots of photos that I took of students doing school work, activities, events and field trips. Please click on the photo gallery link to look at all the photos I have uploaded. Make sure you show your children because I am sure they will enjoy them too 🙂

Don’t forget to have students work on the winter packet and read lots of books. I have gave everyone new books so they can enjoy them during break.

In addition, I am working on a couple of things myself. I am looking into ClassDojo to start using after break to create a more positive community for our students and parents.  There will be an App that you can download on your phone. Hello parents!

This week is another busy week. We have so much to do before the break. Here are dates to remember:

Monday- Feb 13: WIDA testing starts for 3rd grade.

Tuesday- Feb 14: Valentines Day and we will celebrate our friendship in our class. We are all friends in the classroom and students can bring treats for everyone. There are 28 students. There will not be a party, it is just passing treats out to friends

Wednesday-Feb 15: We have a math test and students will get the study guide Monday.

In addition, it will be 100th day. We have been in school for 100 days. Students and staff can dress up as old people wearing wigs, suits, dresses and glasses. This is our first year doing it and I will participate! I’m sure the school will send out a letter with more details. If you are not sure what to do, search on Google kids dressed as old people or kids 100th day or ideas.

Thursday-Feb 16: There will be a social studies test on Michigan government. The study guide will go home Tuesday. I will also pass out the winter packet that students will work on during break.

Friday- Feb 17: Last day before break! Students will get a winter packet to do during break. I will pass it out Thursday.  Enjoy the week off an relax 🙂

Hello Parents!

Just a friendly reminder about tomorrows field trip. I sent a half sheet letter with the details. I will post it here again just in case someone loses it.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, February 7th, is our field trip to the Historic Village in Troy. The bus will be leaving at 9:00 am. Chaperones that will be joining us, please be here by 8:50. We will leave the Historic Village around 2:00. Students will be dismissed at 3:35.

What to do on the day of the field:

-Leave backpacks home, there will be no homework given that day.

-Pack a bagged lunch; everything must be disposable.

-Wear winter attire; heavy jacket, gloves and hat

-Wear comfortable shoes

Hello Parents!!

I’m so excited!! The third grade team has planned a field trip. Students received the forms today. If you would like your child to go, please sign the form as soon as possible and return to me.

Who: 3rd grade team

What: A educational and fun field trip

When: February 7, 2017 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Where: Historical Village in Troy

Why: To have students create that connection with the history of Michigan Unit 🙂

The students are FREE. Chaperones are welcome but must pay $8.00. In addition, you need to give a copy of your license to Debbie in the office for a background check. You must do this as soon as possible because it takes up to 10 days. Any delays might result you in not going on the field trip.

Hello parents!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I’m going to my parents house for breakfast. Yum! It will be a busy week for us, the following will happen:

– Science test tomorrow

– NWEA language and Science

-Wednesday is the Math test. I will send the study guide tomorrow.

-Thursday is Winterfest from 5:30-7:30

– Friday will be a half day and it is the last day for the 2nd marking period.

Hello parents!

Hopefully you are enjoying this nice weather. Just a few reminders:

-Winterfest is January 26 from 5:30-7:30. Only a few students got tickets, hopefully we will have more. Remember no tickets sold at the door.

Tickets are $10 per family.

Food tickets are $2 per person

-I sent out Science study guide, test will be Friday. We will also review tomorrow in class.

-Tomorrow we will be taking the reading NWEA test.

-January 27th is end of the 2nd marking period.

Hello parents!

It’s time for the winter NWEA testing! We will start with Math tomorrow afternoon. After that, we will continue for the next two weeks. Please remind students to take the NWEA seriously and to take their time. I will also remind them tomorrow before we test. If students made growth from the fall scores to now, they will get a yummy treat 🙂

Hello parents!

The new year just started and already 10 days have past. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their break. It is great being back with the students! I stayed home with my boys and loved every minute of it.

A few reminders:

• NWEA testing window has opened, we will start with math on Friday.
• End of the marking period will be January 27th.
•  Students need to practice their multiplication facts and will be tested on them frequently. Ask the students about the ice cream Sundae they can earn for every fact they know 🙂
