Community Forum – High School Boundary Proposal

River Oaks School – Wednesday December 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

As part of the overall plan to review the enrollment increases at Dearborn’s three comprehensive high schools the District will hold a meeting to provide information and solicit feedback regarding proposed high school boundary changes. The forum is open to all member of the River Oaks community. Parents, students, staff and all community members are invited to attend.

The Board of Education has not made any decision regarding these plans. The District is in the informational gathering stage of the process. The board will make a decision once they have collected feedback from the community, looked at all options, and then will vote as a Board on a final plan.

Hello Parents,

I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the few days off with your children. I will be doing homework, spending time with my boys and recharging for the upcoming weeks.
I didn’t send a break packets or homework but I do want students to continue to reading daily and work on computer programs like Study Island, MobyMax, and MyOn. Students may also use IXL which gives about 10-15 problems for free daily.
If students are not able to log in please let me know. Usually putting the email (which is student ID @dearbornschools.org) then their password depends on student choice will connect their google account with that program. If you don’t have computer access, please have students read and orally explain to you what they read about.
When we come back from break, we will be starting multiplication for math. Begin studying those facts, start with 2’s and 3’s.

Good morning parents,

Next Monday, November 20th, the PTA is holding a movie night at 4:30. Each ticket will be $4.00 for every child. The money is due tomorrow, November 16th. Parents must be with their children during the movie. Parents will have to pay only if they would like to eat pizza. I will be there with my two boys. Please help support our PTA. If you have any questions please let me know.

Hello parents!

I sent out the conference forms with the students in their green folders. Those of you that came to open house, got a chance to choose a date and time. Please sign the forms and send back tomorrow. If the time or date does not work for you, please let me know and I will see what I can do. Students that will bring in the signed form tomorrow will get a treat.

Also, we are out of baby wipes, low on hand sanitizer and tissues as the winter season is approaching. If you would like to donate some items that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello parents!

Today will be trunk or treat at 6:00, for those that have purchased tickets. For parents volunteering please be in the parking lot by 5:30. There will be a snap chat filter that we’ve made for the Halloween trunk or treat 😊

Tomorrow will be the Halloween parade at 2:15. After the parade, we will have our party which we will pass out treats. We have 25 students if you would like to bring treats. We will be watching a short movie that students will enjoy while eating their snacks.

Students are to bring their costumes to school in a bag and change at a later time. Make sure that costumes does not have any toy weapons. Masks are not to be worn on their faces but could be placed on top of their heads. If you have any questions, please let me know.
