Parents just a few reminders:
*Tomorrow will be 100th day of school. Students can dress up as if they are a 100 years old.
*The social studies test will be Tuesday. We did a review in class today and students also have their S.S notebooks to review vocabulary words.
*PBIS reward will be Tuesday at 1:40, if students want to bring electronics from home.
*Tuesday the study guide for math will be sent home and the test will be Thursday.
* Wednesday I will not be here, therefore I will push Valentine treats to Friday, February 16th.
*Thursday we will take our Unit 6 math test.

Today we completed the math NWEA. I am very proud of the student progress. Students have a sticky note with their winter goal and what is written in blue is what they actually got. We have a couple make-ups to due before the window closes. Also, we will celebrate our success as a class by having a party.
A friendly reminder that tomorrow is the Math test. Make sure students have studied.
Also, winter fest will be from 5:30 to 7:30. Games will be over around 7:00 and that is when the raffle will begin. Raffle tickets will still be sold tomorrow morning. Hope to see everyone there : )

Hello parents!
Just a few reminders for this week:
From Monday through Thursday, students can purchase raffle tickets for winter-fest for 25 cents each. Students can still buy winter-fest tickets until Wednesday. I hope to see everyone there!
Tuesday, I will send out the math study guide and the test will be Thursday.
There were a few students that did not do well on the science test which I am willing to give them a second chance. If students got a 70% or less then tomorrow they will do the make-up test. They should have their study guide, if not it is posted on the classdojo story. I usually do not do make-ups but since last week was a short week and I was out for two days because of traning, I will do it.
Thursday is winter-fest from 5:30-7:30.
Friday is a half-day for students.

Hello parents!
It is going to be a busy month! We have so much to do in so little time.
Just a reminder that Friday is our field trip to Henry Ford Museum. Make sure students wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes. We are going to be inside the museum. Students need to bring a bagged lunch and everything disposable. Our lunch might be around 12:00, depending how long the presentation will take so please make sure students get a good breakfast. We will be there from 9:00 to 2:00. We will be back not later than 2:30. Our chaperones can be here around 8:50 which will be Mrs. Reda, Mrs. Hassoun and Mrs. Popescu.
Also, since we have a field trip Friday, the spelling test will be given Thursday.
NWEA testing window starts Wednesday. There are 5 different tests: language, science, math, reading and oral language (this is new). Most likely we will start the language and science this week and reading and math the following weeks. It is important to remind students, as I will too, to take this test seriously and to take their time. They should have a good nights sleep and breakfast in the morning. I have met with all students and they created new goals for the winter.

Just a reminder Parent Talk classes start tomorrow January 9th at 1:30.
Margaret King Ahmed – Parent Involvement Educator will be hosting effective Parent talk classes here at River Oaks School.
What is Parent Talk? You will learn communication skills that empower, encourage self-responsible behaviors, self-motivation and character development. Learn practical skills to positively effect the social and emotional development of your children and family. You will increase achievement and decrease discipline issues with effective Parent Talk.
Classes will be held on Tuesday’s at 1:30 – 3:30.

February 6,13,27. March 6th
Graduation will be March 13, 2018

Hello parents!
Hopefully you enjoyed the snow day.
Just a reminder to send the field trip forms and themoney as soon possible. It’s $4 per student and$9 for chaperones. We will need threechaperones.
Also, next week is our last busy week before thewinter break. Wednesday is late start. We will haveour holiday party Thursday at 2:30. We aredecorating a cookie with the third grade team.Friday I’m planning to have pizza for lunch with theclass before our break. The 4th and 5th gradeholiday concert will be at 2:00!
In addition, I will be sending the social studiesstudy guide tomorrow and test will be Tuesday orWednesday depending on students readiness.Then Wednesday I will send out math study guideand the test will be Friday.
